DesignHammer Partners with Chamber for Buy Local website

January 27, 2009

DesignHammer is pleased to announce its partnership with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. The award-winning web design and development firm will provide a new website for the Chamber’s Buy Local Campaign.

The website, WeBuyLocal.org, is an easy to use online directory, allowing users to find local businesses by either searching, or browsing by categories. The resulting listings feature interactive maps, including quick links to driving directions provided by Google.

According to the Chamber “Buy Local is a grass roots organization open to anyone who believes in the benefits of spending money in the communities where they live, work, go to school and play. Some of the best reasons to Buy Local include retaining sales tax revenue in the community, supporting your neighbors by supporting their businesses, and reducing the environmental impact of driving long distances or having things shipped. Buy local is also important in helping to maintain the unique character and lifestyle of the community.”

For business owners, the online directory provides opportunities to make your business stand out, including two levels of banner ads, as well as two levels of premium listings.

The website is powered by BuyLocalizer, a web-based application developed by Chamber member DesignHammer.  The Chamber’s WeBuyLocal.org website is the pilot installation of BuyLocalizer. For more information, visit buylocalizer.com, or contact DesignHammer.
