DesignHammer at ProductCamp

ProductCamp LogoSeptember 29, Durham NC – This past Saturday, Sep 26, the annual “unconference” ProductCamp returned again to Research Triangle Park. ProductCamp is yet another version of the BarCamp series of events orchestrated to give marketers the opportunity to meet and discuss key issues in the industry today. DesignHammer representatives Kosta Harlan and Caroline Silver joined in the conversation of this year’s meeting, presenting on “Usability Testing as a Method for Ensuring Marketing Success.”

The term Usability refers to one of the elements of an effective website as well as a method web designers use to measure effectiveness. While usability is always high consideration when performing website design, testing allows clients to quantify the value of usability improvements to their website and gives businesses the opportunity to enhance important elements of the website without a complete redesign. Usability testing has recently been added to DesignHammer’s service offerings as part of a complete website redesign package or as a stand-alone service.

The presentation provided an overview of the concept of Usability as well as the methodology behind usability testing. To help illustrate, case studies were used from the DesignHammer portfolio to demonstrate this particular element’s importance in the website experience.

The ProductCamp conference was held at the RDU airport Cambria Suites, attended by approximately 60-70 marketing representatives from the area as well as attendees who traveled from different markets to participate. Presenters spoke on a range of marketing topics including Agile Product Management, How Internet Killed the Marketing Manager, Power of Video, and Promoting Brands.
