Durham, NC – The Durham-based web design company DesignHammer is proud to announce that the Durham Bulls have extended their contract with the company for the 2010 season. DesignHammer has been the official web design and development agency for the team since the company’s founding in 2001, providing design, development, maintenance, and hosting services throughout the long partnership.
The Durham Bulls is a minor league baseball team that has been the pride and joy of Durham for almost 100 years. The Bulls team has been the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays since 1998. The team gained great national recognition after the 1988 film Bull Durham starring Tim Robbins, Kevin Kostner and Susan Sarrandon.
In the past decade alone, the team has grown greatly with the building of a new downtown stadium, introduction of mascot Wool E Bull and winning their first National Championship in 2009. Lead Designer, Frank Yonnetti commented, “It’s been really great to work on the Durham Bulls website for all these years as they are such a source of excitement for the community. Plus, the team is awesome and the games are always fun at DBAP, especially on fireworks nights.”
The Bulls’ website was originally designed in early 2001, with a redesign in 2005 and most recently in 2007. The site has a custom content management system and includes fan friendly features such as a game scoreboard system, rotating team news window, video highlights, photos, audio podcasts, and an eCommerce system for purchasing team souvenirs. For the 2010 season, DesignHammer will continue to provide hosting and ongoing maintenance, which may involve the creation of a few upcoming new features that will be announced later this season.
Director of Media Relations/Promotions of the Bulls, Matt DeMargel responded to the extended contract by remarking, “We have had a long and outstanding partnership with DesignHammer and are happy to see it continue through the 2010 season. Their quick response time and attention to detail were significant reasons why we decided to return.”
