How does your site compare to the FIFA World Cup?

June 23, 2006

You have probably looked at the traffic to your website, and wondered how it compares to heavily traffic sites. What sort of traffic to the "big boys (and girls)" get? If your site is the official website of the FIFA World Cup, the number has a bunch of zeros on the end.

In a press release from comScore Networks, a leader in digital media measurement, today released the results were an impressive 226 million pages views by more than 5 million unique visitors, in a single day. Monday, June 12 proved to be the strongest day yet for the official FIFA World Cup site, hosted by Yahoo! at fifaworldcup.yahoo.com.

Something to note — the average number of pages viewed by each visitor was close to forty. Compelling content obviously kept the users engaged, and on the site.
